Shared Favourites lets one person hand their song list to everybody else. Instead of twelve people each hunting down the same twelve songs, the leader builds the list once and shares it.
Anything the leader has changed comes with it. If they have put a song into a different key, or swapped a chord for an easier shape, that is what everyone else sees.
There are two sides to this, so go to whichever applies to you:
You need to be logged in either way.
💡 Handy hints: Throughout this page, look for our Handy hints. These practical suggestions come from helpful feedback from our users and point out useful shortcuts and small details that can make sharing easier.
You give your list a short name, called an alias, and hand that name to your members. They type it in once and can then see your songs.
Then send the alias to the people you want to share with. That is all they need.
💡 Handy hint: The alias has to be unique across the whole site, so a common word may already be taken. Something like ThursdayJamCypress is more likely to work first time than Thursday.
💡 Handy hint: What They See lets you share one sub-list rather than everything. Handy if you keep your own practice songs in the same account as the group's set list.
Click Delete Alias. Nobody using that alias will be able to see your list any more.
Your group leader will give you an alias, which is just a short name. You enter it once and it stays set.
Now go to your own Favourites page. Look for Sharing from in the status bar, just under the row of action buttons. It shows which list you are connected to, with a ✎ Change link and a View shared favourites link. Click any song to play from it.
If it says Sharing from: None, no list is set yet, and the link there takes you to your profile to set one up.
You can also go straight to the shared list.
💡 Handy hint: Because shares are added first and then selected, you can keep more than one group set up and switch between them with the Change Share dropdown. Useful if you play with two clubs.
Songs in a shared list belong to the leader. If you want to keep one, save it to your own favourites and it stays there whatever the leader does later.
Open the song and tap the ♥ heart, exactly as you would with any other song.
To save several at once, tick them in the shared list and click Save to My Faves.
💡 Handy hint: A song you save keeps the leader's changes, so if they moved it to an easier key you get their version, not the original.
